Nature Nymph

As I do most weekends, I ventured out for a bit of a hike with a friend. I am learning there are so many beautiful places to discover nearby and I absolutely love being in nature. It’s calming, grounding, peaceful and I find it is where I can be my most spiritual self. There are 2 places that I feel most connected to and that is near the ocean and in nature.

Today’s adventure was both and it just takes you away for a mini wellbeing vacation. A little meditation on a rock surrounded by trees, that overlooks the ocean is spiritual perfection. A couple of yoga poses throughout the hike adds a little extra to the overall experience. A little tree hugging and tree climbing is always fun and nothing beats fresh air and all that greenery.

We climbed a significant number of stairs today so our calves, quads and glutes got a fairly impressive workout, however, we then rewarded ourselves with freshly squeezed orange juice and bacon and egg rolls! The climb back after this little treat seemed a tad more difficult, but we are warriors!

I saw what I thought was a trampoline built in the ground from a distance and can I say that I was as excited as a kid on Christmas Day. I briefly wondered why there would be this inbuilt trampoline on this open space headland but was already envisaging the acrobats I could do. I expressed my excitement to my friend, pointing and suggesting we have a go but was quickly and disappointingly brought back to reality when she explained it was not a trampoline but a grate. Upon a more thorough look I could now see, it clearly was not a trampoline but that minute or so was a highlight. Reflecting on this whilst I write, I suspect this could have been a very different post, perhaps even from a hospital bed if the grate was a trampoline!!

It was a beautiful way to spend a Sunday morning, being at one with nature plus getting a decent workout and having some fun. Unfortunately our inner peace was slightly interrupted when arriving back to the car we noticed a parking fine but that would not ruin our day, afterall we are goddesses and nature nymph’s and nothing can dampen our spirit!

All good things are wild and free. Sometimes getting a little lost in nature, allows you to find more parts of yourself. True nourishment of the soul.

After a long marriage, 2 children (now grown), a separation and embarking on a brand new life, I have realised life is always a journey. I have made mistakes, I have hurt and been hurt, I have loved and I have lost and at times I completely lost myself and forgot the Queen that I am. As women we are the nurturer, the caregiver but sometimes we underestimate the Goddess within us and my journey has made me realise that when our crown is crooked, we need to adjust it ourselves and remember the Queens that we are! This will be a blog about what I have learnt, what I am continuing to learn and how we can help each other. I will talk about all things love and life and at times this will be controversial but life and love is never black and white but varying shades of grey. We live in a judgemental society and so many of us live our lives according to the expectations of others, rather than doing or being what truly makes us happy. I hope you join me on my journey and on my quest to find that Inner Goddess and we can learn from each other and we can discuss the judgements and societal expectations that hold so many of us back. It's time to seek our inner happiness!!
