As the weekend comes to a close I reflect on how very fortunate I am. Today I ventured out in nature amongst the greenery on a clifftop walk along the coast. The sun was shining, the views spectacular and the company awesome. There is something about the trees, rocks and ocean sound that is so grounding, so spiritual and so refreshing. You can be nothing but present and in that presence you feel so alive.
I like to compare my life journey to the hiking journey. There’s a few difficult parts along the track, a few areas where you nearly lose your footing and take a tumble, a few tight spots where you think you may get stuck and some bits that make you breathless. Then you regain your footing and stand tall, you get through those tight spots and you conquer the tougher bits, take a few deep breaths feeling an exhilarating calm. You look around you, taking in every inch of beauty and you are overwhelming grateful that you are healthy, able bodied and have the energy and spirit to enjoy the simple things in life.
You think about your goals, your life goals, personal goals and career goals because when you are in this place, this place of calm and peace, this place of gratitude you have amazing clarity. You just know that the possibilities are endless and you can do whatever it is you set your mind to and focus on, as long as it’s coming from your heart and soul and for the right reasons. You know that if you’re too comfortable, it’s time to move on. You know if you’re a little terrified of what’s next, you are on the right track. You know your life is as much an adventure as your hike is.
It’s an incredible feeling to be awake, like truly awake. Where your eyes are wide open and you just take in every part of your surroundings. You appreciate the absolute beauty of the vast ocean to your left, the trees, the rocks, the birds and all the people you acknowledge along the way. There are so many dogs enjoying a day out with their owners and they are always happy to meet someone new. You capture these moments and you file them away as a memory to recall or share at another time because you know that life is made up of a million moments and you do not want to forget any of them.
Most importantly you understand that just as you appreciate all that external beauty the universe provides, you also need to appreciate your own beauty. Your kindness. Your heart. Your spirit. Your soul. Your ability to make someone else’s day. Your warmth. Your smile. Your energy and passion for the people and things that you love. Your excitement for all that the universe has to offer. Everyone needs to look within and appreciate their strengths and weaknesses, it’s how we grow. And when we realise that ego is overtaking spirit we need to address that in ourselves so we do not get trapped in that cycle. A goal of mine is to be somebody who makes everybody feel like somebody.
As a woman I believe we all have this beautiful Divine Goddess within us. It’s part of us, of our feminine being, our feminine power and identity. Our Divine feminine energy and our sensuality. Our Inner Goddess is awaiting patiently for us to remember she is there and recognise who she is!
